Agreement
These terms govern access to and use of the Package Protect platform (“the Service”) by ecommerce merchants and their authorized users. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
What the Service is
Package Protect is software that lets a merchant offer paid package protection at checkout, manage claims through a branded portal, resolve issues with refunds or reships, and track the economics in a protection ledger. Package Protect provides the software; the protection program is defined and operated by the merchant. We are not an insurer and do not underwrite claims.
Merchant responsibilities
- Configuring protection pricing, eligibility windows and claim rules appropriate to your business.
- Presenting accurate checkout copy and honoring the resolutions you offer to your customers.
- Keeping account credentials and API keys secure and ensuring authorized use only.
- Complying with applicable laws, including consumer-protection and data-privacy requirements.
Fees
Protection fees are set by the merchant and collected at checkout. Platform fees, if any, are described in your order form or subscription agreement. Fees are usage-based and sized to your monthly shipment volume.
Claims and resolutions
The Service records claims and the resolutions a merchant chooses (refund, reship or denial with notes). Decisions on individual claims are made by the merchant according to the rules it configures. Package Protect is not responsible for the outcome of any individual claim.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access data you are not authorized to access, interfering with normal operation, or using it to violate the law or the rights of others.
Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Package Protect's liability arising from the Service is limited as set out in your subscription agreement.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
